Proposal · Prepared for Brandy Navarre · Palm Construction School

Exam prep that teaches, adapts and largely writes itself

On our call you described three problems: students land on question one with no introduction, they retake the same static practice exams, and new content takes far too much manual work. This proposal shows how we would fix all three while your WordPress site and WooCommerce checkout stay exactly as they are.

We built this page the way a good course is built, the way your Startup Class works: short modules, something to try in each, and a check at the end. It takes about 8 minutes. Use the outline on the left to jump around.

What we heard on our call

Before we propose anything, here is our understanding of where Palm stands today. If any of this is off, tell us and we will adjust the plan.

About 95% of the business is self-paced exam prep and practice exams. That is where Phase 1 starts.
Content is text-only Q&A, converted from old PowerPoints, with no instruction before the first question.
Students complain the practice exams repeat. They should change and focus on what each student got wrong.
You want AI to create questions, explanations and short videos, and publish them straight into the platform without copy-pasting.
You are not a contractor yourself, so an instructor should check AI content before students ever see it.
WordPress and WooCommerce stay. The learning side, admin and student portal can be fully rebuilt.
Live class Zoom links, handouts and reminders should live in the student dashboard, not in emails that land in spam.
Timed continuing education is not needed until 2028, but whatever we build now must be able to support it.
You prefer to work in phases, within the budget range we discussed.

MODULE 02

Day one, rebuilt

You said it best: if the first thing a student sees after paying is question one, they wonder what they are doing there. Flip between today and what we would build.

learning portal · Mechanical exam prep

Welcome to Mechanical Exam Prep. A short video walks the student through the exam format, the number of questions, time limits, how to register, and how to tab and highlight their books, the same ground your live Startup Class covers.

  6. 6Full timed mock examExam ready

Every course gets a short orientation path before the questions start, plus short lessons and explainer clips between practice sets, so the self-paced course feels closer to your live classes.

MODULE 03

Practice exams that adapt to each student

Try it yourself. Take a 6-question diagnostic, then build Practice Exam 2. It will lean toward the topics you missed, so no two students get the same second exam.

MODULE 04

The AI content studio

This is the part you care about most, and the part we would spend the most care on. Your team picks a trade, uploads the reference material, sets the goals and presses one button. The AI drafts the lesson, questions, explanations, narration and video, then everything waits in a review queue for an instructor.

Two details matter for Palm. First, the AI writes only from the material you upload, and every question shows the page it came from, so an instructor can check it in seconds even though you are not a contractor yourself. Second, those page references teach students where to look in their books, which is exactly what your Startup Class trains them to do.

For the visuals we start from branded templates (diagrams, formulas, worked examples, an optional AI presenter for intros). Fully AI-generated animation is not yet reliable enough for professional exam prep, so templates keep quality consistent and costs predictable.

MODULE 05

The student dashboard becomes the hub

Everything a student needs in one place: their courses and access dates, where they left off, which topics need work, and for live students, the next class link and the handouts to print. No more hunting through email.

The live-class panel is an optional add-on (Module 07). With it, each scheduled class creates its meeting link automatically, shows it on the right students' dashboards, and sends text and email reminders. Without it, your team pastes the two weekend links in by hand, which also works.

MODULE 06

How it's built

Your website stays. We replace only the learning side, which today is already a separate custom system your developer connected to WordPress. Click any box to see what it does.

Why a dedicated learning portal instead of LearnDash?

Several proposals suggested LearnDash, and it is a solid plugin for standard courses. We weighed it seriously. For Palm, three needs push past what it does well: practice exams that adapt per student, AI content that publishes itself after review, and a timed, no-skip player the State will accept in 2028. Each of those would be custom code bolted onto LearnDash anyway. Since your learning side is already separate from WordPress today, a dedicated portal is a like-for-like replacement, not a bigger leap.

MODULE 07

Plan, timeline and investment

Phase 1 is built in five milestones over about 10 weeks. Students can start using the new portal around week 7 while we finish and fine-tune the AI studio. Tick the options to see how the total changes.

Running costs after launch (paid to the services directly)
ServiceWhat it doesApprox. per month
Portal hostingRuns the learning portal and database$40 to $80
AI writingDrafts lessons, questions and explanations (pay per use)$20 to $100
AI voiceNatural narration for lessonsAbout $22
AI presenter (optional)Avatar for intro and welcome videos$30 to $90
TotalScales with how much content you produceAbout $110 to $290

No per-student license fees. All accounts are opened in Palm's name, so you own the platform, the content and the data.

MODULE 08

Who's teaching this course

You would work with our full team at Coding Pixel, not a single freelancer. Our developers are based in Pakistan and overlap with US business hours every day. You get a weekly call, a shared project board where you can see every task, and one person accountable to you throughout.

Next steps

Questions we still have for you

  1. Can your current developer hand over access to the existing learning backend, so we can plan the move of your question banks and student records?
  2. How many trades and practice exams should be live in the new portal at launch?
  3. Which instructors will review AI content, and roughly how many hours a week can they give it?
  4. For the 2028 continuing education cycle, does the State require a specific report format as proof of time spent?
